The Fokker 100 is one of the most reliable passenger aircraft in the world. Shortly after the maiden flight in 1986, the first aircraft were delivered to major European and American airlines. From 1993 onwards the range of the jet was extended by an increase in take-off weight and the incorporation of a new tank. With a range of about 2300 km, the Fokker 100 can easily reach the more distant destinations. HELVETIC will gradually put up to 10 Fokker 100s into operation. KLM and AUSTRIAN will also be using the Fokker 100 in a new design from 2004.
